SSO x ZEISS Research Grant

Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the Saudi Society of Optometry and ZEISS The Saudi Society of Optometry (SSO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ZEISS, a global leader in optical and optoelectronic technology, to advance research in optometry within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This strategic partnership reflects a shared commitment to fostering scientific excellence, supporting professional development on myopia control and vision care. Key Areas of Collaboration Research Grants As part of this collaboration, two annual research grants total off ( 15,00 USD ) will be launched and managed by the SSO Research Committee in feb 2026 These awards will recognize and support outstanding research that advances optometric science and clinical practice in Myopia. Implementation and Oversight The SSO Research Committee will oversee the selection, administration, and reporting of funded projects, while ZEISS will participate in promoting research outcomes and supporting visibility through scientific platforms. This agreement, valid for two years, marks a significant milestone in strengthening industry–academia collaboration to elevate the standard of vision research and eye care services in Saudi Arabia.
